About This Course.
This is a closed studio class for professional working actors.
This is a high-level training lab designed for professional actors and those with equivalent industry experience.
Like elite athletes, actors at this level require consistent, high-quality training to stay sharp. This course is designed to keep your instrument responsive, your choices specific, and your work competitive. Capped at five actors, sessions are deliberately intense, highly specific, and entirely focused on the individual. The work is exacting. The expectation is that you arrive ready to engage at a professional level - instinctively, truthfully, and without protective habits.
At this level, the work is not about basics. It’s about refinement, consistency, and control under pressure. Each week, actors prepare and deliver a screen test under professional audition conditions. In the room where auditions happen all year round. You will be directed in real time, expected to adjust immediately, and pushed to sharpen both instinct and execution. Sessions include detailed playback and critique, ensuring every choice is interrogated and elevated.
Because on set or in the audition room, there is no space for safe or pre-set choices. So this is about applying that real-time pressure and testing what you are capable of when you’re pushed into less familiar territory.
It's all about discovering new rhythms. New behaviours. New ways of holding a scene. And holding space in the room.
The result is a more flexible instrument and one that can stretch without losing precision!
From that, a different kind of confidence emerges. You know what holds. You know how to adjust. You can walk into a room or onto a tape and work cleanly, without hesitation, without overcorrection. The work simplifies. It becomes more direct. More alive. And it will truly unleash the great creative force within you.

Don: These classes are taught by Don Kountouris who is a NIDA Acting Graduate, Tertiary Institution Screen Acting Tutor, Former Acting Agent, and former actor with credits in both AUS and US film and television such as: Terra Nova (FOX), The Informant (CH10), Home and Away (CH7), Crownies (ABC), Packed to the Rafters (CH7) and All Saints (CH7)
