About This Course.
This courses are for intermediate actors who either have previous training or limited on set experience to practice, develop and explore their audition technique. Each week, actors are required to prepare and deliver a screen test under audition circumstances. This course is available to any qualified actors regardless of representation and designed to explore, demystify, practice and develop an actor’s audition technique.
The difference between theatre and film is as evident as the difference between working in an audition and working on set. Understanding audition etiquette, preparation, delivery and taking direction are vital skills necessary for an actor to be a contender in the room. Screen Audition Training is designed to allow actors to explore these skills, practice and master their own unique audition technique.
Course components:

Understand the audition process both in the room and after.

Prepare and deliver a new screen test each week.

Understand various audition techniques, methods and approaches.

Understand, develop and practice your own unique audition preparation and delivery.
- Practice taking direction and implementing feedback immediately without rehearsal.

Understand audition etiquette.

Understand script analysis and how to sell a scene as an audition.

Develop the ability to ‘break the frame’ and utilise the limitations of a screen test

These classes are taught by Don Kountouris who is a NIDA acting graduate, Adelaide College of the Arts Screen Acting Tutor, Former Acting Agent and Director at Mitchell Actors, and former actor with credits in both AUS and US film and television such as: Terra Nova (FOX), The Informant (CH10), Home and Away (CH7), Crownies (ABC), Packed to the Rafters (CH7) and All Saints (CH7)
Important Information:
This courses are for anyone over the age of 18 years. An intensive course exploring numerous fundamentals and advanced techniques in screen acting. Both beginners and intermediate level actors are welcome regardless of representation.
